Course Completion Guide
Course Materials and Exams
SurveyorCE courses combine structured educational materials with
required activities and assessments that verify successful completion.
Course Structure
Review the Complete Course
Each course contains educational material selected to address the
stated subject and learning objectives. Materials may include
written lessons, downloadable documents, figures, tables,
examples, technical references, and other instructional resources.
Students should review the complete assigned material before
attempting the final assessment. Prior experience with a topic
does not replace the requirement to complete the course as
presented.
Tutor LMS records lesson progress, assessment activity, and course
completion under the student account used to take the course.
Educational Content
Materials Used in SurveyorCE Courses
Written Lessons
Structured lessons explain the course subject and organize the
educational material into a logical sequence.
Course Documents
Downloadable guides or reference documents may provide the primary
reading material for a course.
Figures and Tables
Technical illustrations, diagrams, photographs, maps, and tables
may be used to clarify important concepts.
Worked Examples
Examples may demonstrate calculations, analysis, professional
judgment, field procedures, or application of standards.
References
Courses may identify technical publications, statutes, standards,
guidance documents, or other reputable source materials.
Assessment Questions
Examination questions evaluate the student’s understanding of the
required educational content.
Recommended Process
Study Before Attempting the Exam
Review the Objectives
Read the learning objectives so you understand the principal
knowledge and applications addressed by the course.
Read the Complete Material
Review every required lesson, section, document, figure, example,
and assigned reference.
Confirm Required Activities
Check the course outline and mark required lessons or activities
complete when instructed.
Begin the Assessment
Attempt the examination only after reviewing the complete
educational content.
Course Assessment
Examination Requirements
SurveyorCE assessments are intended to verify that the student
reviewed and understood the principal course content. Questions
are based on the assigned educational material.
The standard passing score is 70 percent unless the individual
course identifies a different requirement. Students who do not
achieve the passing score should return to the course material
before beginning another permitted attempt.
Assessment behavior, question order, answer order, and attempt
history may be controlled by the Tutor LMS course configuration.
Additional Attempts
If You Do Not Pass
An unsuccessful attempt is an opportunity to identify material that
requires additional study. Return to the lessons or course document,
review the relevant topics, and begin another permitted attempt when
prepared.
Do not repeatedly submit answers without reviewing the educational
content. The purpose of the assessment is to confirm learning rather
than merely generate a passing result.
A
Review
Return to the course material and identify the topics that require
additional attention.
B
Restudy
Read the relevant explanations, examples, figures, and referenced
material before trying again.
C
Reattempt
Begin another permitted assessment attempt and submit the completed
answers for grading.
Course Completion
Passing the Exam May Not Be the Final Step
After passing the assessment, return to the course outline and
confirm that all lessons and required activities have been marked
complete.
The course must be recorded as completed before the certificate
becomes available. If a passing assessment is shown but the
course remains incomplete, review the outline for an unfinished
requirement.
Course materials are provided for the enrolled student’s personal
educational use. Unless expressly permitted, materials may not be
copied, republished, sold, shared, posted, transmitted, or distributed
to another person or organization.
